His Greatness, on the web

The Herman Sports Network has just introduced an online Baseball Encyclopedia, so the first thing I had to do was check Drummond Peltier's page. Gaze upon it's glory here.

There Once was a Pitcher.....

The greatest pitcher who ever pitched would never lose a game. He would never need to trust the ball to his bullpen. No, he would complete what he started every time.

Was any pitcher ever that good? Has any pitcher ever thrown complete game wins in 100% of his major league starts?

There once was a pitcher, and his name was Drummond Peltier.

In 1997 Drummond Peltier made his major league debut in September for a forgettable 71 win Chicago Winds ballclub. He pitched 9 innings, allowing only 4 hits, 2 runs, and 5 walks while striking out 5. He earned a complete game win. He never pitched again.

The APBA league powers that be will not place Drummond on our Hall of Fame ballot. Some silly requirement about not pitching in enough seasons. Every year, a few courageous writers give him a write-in vote. Will you help them?
